VOLCANO WALK AND SPRING WATER
There is no better way to experience the raw nature of Iceland than hiking through a lava tunnel or up to the top of a small volcano with a gorgeous view of the greater Reykjavik area! As we take our hike, you will learn about the geological formations of Iceland and adventure into caves where you can fill your water bottle with pure, rejuvenating Icelandic spring water. This hike is for all ages and will be done leisurely so plenty of time to nap in the Icelandic moss or play hide and seek in the lava fields.

SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA
We love Snæfellsnes peninsula! It is a spiritual power-house and the setting for Jules Verne’s book Journey to the Center of the Earth. We will meet you at Borganes village at 9am and start our journey towards the glacier. We have thoughtful, relatively “off-the-beaten-path” experiences along the way and are happy to cater to your interests. Among them are waterfalls, flora and bird life explorations, bilberry picking, volcano and lava field hikes, picnicking along a wall of basalt columns, filling your water bottles with carbonated spring water, taking a dip into secret natural geothermal pools and much much more. We will give you great tips for continuing your journey around the peninsula.
WATERFALL HIKE
Waterfalls in Iceland are truly magnificent. We think the reason is the pure, energetic water flowing through them and the unique shapes and colors in the surrounding landscape. We are at awe every time we visit them and hope you will be too. The one we have in mind is geared towards older children (10+) and/or children who can be worn in a carrier as this hike includes some 300+ meter elevation gain, crossing a river barefoot and some steeper sections. We also offer milder hiking experiences geared towards younger children with gorgeous multilayered waterfalls to explore.

BORGARFJÖRÐUR COUNTRYSIDE
Even though Iceland is not known for it, there is a rich tradition of farming here. Borgarfjordur is a great place to experience the culture and history of Icelanders. We start out with brunch at our family summerhouse overlooking one of the longest and deepest lakes in the country, followed by a visit to Icelandic strawberry farms where you will get to taste how pure Icelandic water can transform your strawberry-eating experience. Then we will visit a goat farm and hear about their exceptional work keeping the Icelandic goat breed from becoming extinct. (a few of these goats starred in Game of Thrones!) Peppered into the trip can be a trip to the Icelandic Farm Museum, learning about how the largest geothermal spring in Iceland provides district heating to communities hundreds of miles away, and an Icelandic-style picnic. We end the day with a relaxing soak in a countryside geothermal swimming pool. Enjoy!
